History of Michelin in Australia

Michelin Australia Pty Ltd was established in 1 July 1997 to manage and develop the markets of Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region. Prior to this, Michelin tyres were imported by local distributors and have been present on the Australian automotive market since the 1940s. The products marketed by Michelin Australia today include tyres for passenger car, light truck, earthmover equipment, heavy truck and bus, agricultural and industrial equipment, aviation, motorcycle and bicycle.

Based in Port Melbourne Victoria, the Michelin Australia Head Quarters is also home to the Michelin Australia Training Centre (MATC). This training centre is one of a few dedicated facilities in Michelin's network of companies in the Asia-Pacific region.

To complete the Australia wide service offering, Michelin Australia is also supported by a network of administrative sales offices in Perth, Sydney and Brisbane.
